The Mojibi Family’s Downtown Bakersfield Family Session

We turned the corner of a downtown Bakersfield street and there it was, a little old building with green ivy cascading up the creamy white vintage brick walls and old windows reminiscent of days gone by. We said, “ this is it, no need to go any further”. We love finding new places that are literally just under our noses that we have probably driven by every day. The location was perfect for the Mojibi family. The Mojibi’s chose a neutral color palette of creams and blush with a pop of denim and details in a bohemian but classic vibe. Choosing the right color scheme can truly add to the portrait session as it did for Amanda and her family. As the three children played down the tree lined streets, we clicked away on the cameras and were able to capture such a natural state of all three of them. If a photo is worth a thousand words, than the Mojibi portraits say it all… FAMILY.

Carson and Elise’s San Francisco Engagement Session

When Elise called me about doing her engagement photos in San Francisco, I was beyond excited!  Our friendship dates back to the days of elementary school and I couldn’t wait to capture such a special time in my childhood friend’s life.  Out of town photo sessions are the best because I get to do my two favorite things, travel and take pictures!  For Elise and Carson’s engagement session, our original location got thwarted by a wind storm (flying sand and camera equipment just don’t mix) so we ended up at the Palace of Fine Arts for the majority of our shoot.  It was a blast, I even go to shoot a roll of film.  At the very end of the session, we braved the beach just to get that golden gate bridge shot and boy was it crazy.  What a fun time it was photographing a friend in such an exciting city.  As Tony Bennett said, “I left my heart in San Francisco!”San Francisco Engagement Session 1San Francisco Engagement Session 2San Francisco Engagement Session 3San Francisco Engagement Session 4San Francisco Engagement Session 5San Francisco Engagement Session 6San Francisco Engagement Session 7San Francisco Engagement Session 8San Francisco Engagement Session 9

Tiffany and Josh’s Hart Park Engagement Session

Tiffany and Josh chose a location close to home, Hart Park in Bakersfield California. Although close to home, these love birds found adventure out there among the overgrown grass and trees. Among the Autumn falling leaves and the wild grasses was Tiffany and Josh and a handful of beautiful bright balloons. They were a ton of fun to photograph. The brightly colored balloons complimented their bright personalities. Laughing and giggling surrounded us at this engagement shoot. They brought along fun props to their engagement session that really showcased their personalities as a couple. The balloons and bubbles they brought along were so much fun to photograph.  I don’t know about you, but when I see bubbles… pure joy! Bubbles are so much fun to photograph and give an added detail to your images.  Thank you Tiffany and Josh for allowing us to capture your free spirits and loving hearts.

Mila’s Newborn Session

In Russian the meaning of Mila is “people’s love”, in the Ekegren family the meaning of Mila seemingly translates the same. Love filled the room at baby Mila’s newborn shoot. Just only a few weeks old, Mila’s beauty was simply captivating. Morgan and Johnny decided on a family session in their home along with Mila’s newborn photos. The whole session was a relaxed vibe allowing for the love this family has for one another to truly shine through. Not only did mommy and daddy each get some photos with the little princess, big brother, Jax, also got in on the action and snagged a few photos with the newest addition to the family. Mila wore a darling gold and white headband and we used a cute little heart print blanket. The natural morning light was beautiful and simple. With all the fuss that goes into caring for a newborn, this shoot required very little lighting and styling; A new little life has an aire that the camera just loves.
