While deciding what to post about this week, I noticed that I have done quite a few posts on engagement sessions. Though I still have some engagements to share with all of you, I decided to break my pattern up just a bit and show some love to my class of 2013 seniors! We always have a blast photographing our seniors. Check out their awesomeness below!
Congrats class of 2013!
The Kern County Museum (or as I call it, Pioneer Village) is one of my favorite places for pictures! Not only is it really cool to learn about the history of Bakersfield, but I find a new place to photograph each time I visit.
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Rob and Blanca’s engagement session at the museum and it was a blast! They are super fun, totally awesome, AND they are DODGER fans!!!! (That’s right, I love that they love my team.) We had a great time joking, laughing, and and taking pictures and we can’t wait for their October wedding!!!!

For my second Disney inspired style shoot, I choose Snow White…..but why get typical? Instead of copying Snow White, I chose to be inspired by the colors and the personality of the character. Snow is quiet, lovely, slightly doe eyed, curious, beautiful, etherial and enchanting and I wanted to photograph those FEELINGS. I wanted to look at these photos and feel like I had been swept away to another world of fairy tale creatures and curious princesses. I wanted to feel inspired and soft and fuzzy inside when I gazed upon the final product. (and I gotta say, I’m pretty excited about the job that Sam and I did together) I don’t think I can pick a favorite…..

It is so great to see a freind get married….and it is even greater to be the one to tell their story. Bryn and I have known each other for most of our lives and I am so extatic to be photographing her and Mark’s wedding. We had such a great time together at their engagement session, out in the almond trees. Their June wedding is going to be such a blast and we can’t wait to share their story!!!
We just love Alex and Jaimee and were totally thrilled to get to photograph their engagement session in the blooming almond trees. (There is a two week window when these trees are in bloom….so us Bakersfield photographers just LOVE it when our couples want to have their engagement pics in them!) Alex and Jaimee were a blast and it was so much fun to capture their love. We can’t wait for their 2013 wedding!!!!
Have you ever taken a drink of an ice cold glass of water and thought to yourself that that would be a great water temperature to swim in? Neither have I….but last week, Quinn and I braved the freezing cold water of my swimming pool for his senior photos. I loved that Quinn was looking for a unique senior portrait experience and was very happy to be the photographer in this scenario! Who doesn’t love the chance to be creative? (Don’t worry, we also got some on land before we went swimming)

It’s not often that I get images of myself working. Thanks to my amazing friend/second shooter, Lindsay Long, there are a few behind the scenes photos to share with all of you. I am pretty sure that we both realized how crazy we were about ten seconds after we got in the water….
