Chris and Mey’s Coyote Hills Wedding

It is always fun for me when I get to photograph my friends. Not only do I know exactly what they like, I get to be right next to them every step of their special day! Mey and I went to St Mary’s College together, and have been friends since our freshman year. When Mey got engaged, she asked me if I could do the photography and I was delighted to say yes!

Mey and Chris got married December of last year in their hometown of Fullerton, California. They had a full Catholic mass at St Juliana Church, and used black, white, and Christmas red in all their decor. Mey had asked her brothers to be her men of honor and Chris’ dad was his best man. Chris’ niece was adorable as the flower girl, and even helped me to get Uncle Chris to laugh during the groomsmen shots.

Mey wore a beautiful long lace dress with cap sleeves, and carried a bouquet of pine needles, green berries, and white roses. The bridesmaids wore long black dresses and kept warm with bright red shawls to match the red roses in their bouquets.

Mey and Chris’ reception was held at Coyote Hills Golf Course where they celebrated the night away with family and friends.

Jake and Jade’s Almond Orchard Engagement

When Jade and Jake called me to schedule a portrait session this spring, Jade had no idea that Jake had a much bigger plan for their photo session.  Jake and I worked together to pull the ultimate surprise on her…..a proposal in the almond blooms!!!!  We arrived out at the orchards with Josh from Evermoore films (Jade thought he was there to do a promo piece for me!), he put microphones on me and Jake and we got rolling.  About half way into the shoot Jake put the final steps of the plan into motion, got down on one knee, and proposed with the ring in a golden snitch! Why you ask?…because Jade is the catch and Jake is the keeper!  It was so amazing to be able to capture the very beginnings of their love story!  Congratulations Jake and Jade!

Tara and JJ’s Rio Bravo Country Club Wedding

Tara and JJ were married at the Rio Bravo Country Club at a beautiful outdoor ceremony coordinated by our friends at Fairy Godmother, with video by R&C Films. I loved this wedding because I was able to shoot film for both their engagement and wedding photos, and they turned out stunning. Tara wore a lace dress with vintage-styled shoes, while JJ wore a tan suit. The wedding was happy and sweet, with the bride’s sister as a maid of honor, and the groom’s cousin as a best man making up the wedding party. The couple gave each other bibles as a gift to set the tone for their lives together. During the reception, we snuck off for some night photography under the stars.

Kaylee & Tyler’s Camp Okihi Wedding

We loved shooting Kaylee and Tyler’s unique bohemian wedding! The couple was married at Camp Okihi under a beautiful oak tree, surrounded by family and friends. Kaylee decorated the outdoor ceremony space with handmade details and italian string lights, with a beautiful pair of handmade wood doors at the end of the aisle. The bridesmaids wore dresses in a neutral color scheme to complement Kaylee’s dress, and Tyler wore suspenders and a bowtie with khakis. Inspired by trees, the rings were shaped to look like tree branches. We took bride and groom pics at sunset against the Kern River, just in time to pick up a beautiful sun flare effect and golden natural light. At the reception, guests entertained themselves with lawn games like cornhole and bocci ball, or snacked at the make-your-own-s’mores bar near the fire pit. We loved shooting the cake table, which was filled with cakes and pies.  Take a peak at their special day below.

Hayley & Matt’s Beach Wedding

Hayley and Matt were married under a beautiful Magnolia tree in Morro Bay. The location for their intimate ceremony was found while geocaching along the coast. Family and a few close friends gathered to watch Hayley and Matt recite their vows before toasting the happy couple with champagne and heading to the beachside reception. We loved the details in this wedding! A rustic wine barrel held the cookie and wedding cakes, while the forks featured the sayings “I love you” and “I know”. Hayley looked simply beautiful in a long lace dress, while Matt played up his personality in suspenders and a bow tie. They got ready for the ceremony at the Morro Bay Inn, where many of their guests stayed and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Jake and Jacqueline’s Padre Hotel Wedding

Jake and Jacqueline said I do at the Padre Hotel in Bakersfield, California and their reception was held at The Park at The Mark Restaurant.  Jacqueline looked like Marilyn Monroe in her dress, which was our main inspiration in the vintage feel of their wedding photos.  We had such a great time capturing their special day.
