Eric and Alex’s snowy maternity session

Eric and Alex are good friends of mine and my husband.  I was super excited to find out that Alex wanted to do maternity photos with me..in the SNOW! (my all time favorite!)  We traveled about an hour to find some winter wonderland goodness.  It was freezing but the images we got were SO worth it.  There is just something about snow that makes everything perfect.

Eric and Alex had two outfits, my favorite being the blush colored maternity gown that Alex picked out.  It was the perfect color against the snow, with her blonde hair and fair skin!  Of course, I shot film of the entire session.  I couldn’t get enough of Eric and Alex and all of their adorableness.  We had a great time together.

At one point during the shoot, there was a moment where I was standing a bit far off, watching through my lens for the shot, and when I clicked the shutter, I realized I had captured magic.  Everything came toghter, the light, the scenery, the love…it was so beautiful to see.

We ended up finding two locations for our session so that we could get in some evergreen tree goodness but the second one was soooooo windy.  (I guess that makes sense since we were close to windmills in Tehachapi!)  Alex was freezing, so we did the second half of the shoot in like 15 min!  Way to go you guys for braving the cold (told you it would be worth it).

Can’t wait to meet your little bundle of girly joy!  (Let’s take her to Disneyland like RIGHT away!)

Tyler & Jessica’s Central California New Moon Wedding

This is another wedding where I had the opportunity to photograph an old friend…Tyler and I go back to the days of Garces. I became fast friends with Jessica too, and the two of us bonded over Bullet Journals and Hobonichi Planners. We’re total dorks, I know, but we love it!

For their wedding, Tyler and Jessica got married on the harvest moon.  Their ceremony took place outside under a tree, surrounded by their friends and family.

Jessica’s dress was a lovely mermaid lace gown that fit her perfectly. I especially loved the veil, Jessica hand-made it. It was absolutely perfect, and we got some great shots of it during the day as well.

The bridal party wore navy dresses and navy checked shirts (along with the perfect accessory, a pink bowtie!)   Tyler wore a navy suit and looked especially dapper with his pink checked bowtie. (one of my favorite combinations)

Guests were greeted with a full on Harvest Moon photo booth prop to take photos in.  We, of course, got the Bride and Groom in on the action as well!

Tyler and Jessica celebrated their reception under the stars and ended the night with a few photos under the Harvest moon.  It was no easy feat as I had left my tripod at home!  We ended up grabbing a wine barrel and any random things we could find (including lenses from my camera bag) to get the camera set up for a long night exposure.  It took some doing but it was well worth it!  The last photos of the night were the bride and groom under the harvest moon surrounded by their bridal party.  What a perfect end to an amazing day.

The DeDonato Family Photos at Murray Farms

We ventured out to Murray Farms for the DeDenato family’s photo session and Dylan’s 6 month old photos.  This is my second time photographing them, I also captured Dylan’s newborn photos.  Dylan was so cute and mostly all smiles! He was having such a blast being the most adorable model ever.

There were so many great corners and nooks to take advantage of at Murray Farms.  We had a blast taking photos on the nice fall day.

Dylan’s little suspenders were possibly the most adorable thing I had ever seen, and I was just eating it up, that is until Bethany pulled out his Halloween costume at the end of our session.  After all the family pics and portraits of Dylan, we finished off the day with some costume images.  I didn’t think it was possible for Dylan to get any cuter, but he did it!  His puppy costume was soooooooo cute!  I just loved it so much.

It is always so much fun to document the growing families of my clients, especially when they are friends and I get to photograph cute babies in Halloween costumes!

James & Lauren’s June Lake Mountain Wedding

The June Lake wedding of James and Lauren was full of gorgeousness.  The Bride is stunning, the Groom is dapper, and the views are beyond incredible!

I have to say that love all of my wedding clients and every wedding is special, but this one in particularly was extra special for me.   James has been my friend all his life because his mom and my mom are best friends, so we go way back! In fact, I am married to James’ cousin, so now we are technically related.

James’ wife Lauren is also a good friend of mine and was one of my bridesmaids (I got married about six weeks before they did). And since neither of our husbands like Disneyland, Lauren and I are Disneyland buddies. I’m such a nerd for Disney and glad I get to share it with Lauren! But enough about that, on to this amazing wedding

Their wedding colors were blush and navy, which complemented the mountainside color palette beautifully.  I LOVED the guys’ navy suits, and check out those shoes!! It added just a bit more to the look of the wedding party.

Lauren’s dress is from Enchanted Bridal Boutique in Bakersfield, CA.  The way it flowed and all of the details on it made for some lovely images of this stunning bride.  It was perfect dress and her beautiful bridal bouquet was the icing on the cake.

Speaking of cake, the wedding cake was by Lauren’s close friend and bridesmaid, Courtney of GhilaDolci Bakery. It was a wonderful compliment to the beautiful June Lake Lodge where the reception took place.

One of my favorite and very unique detail about the wedding was that James and Lauren included their dogs, Maddie and Bodie, in their wedding, walking down the aisle as ring bearer and flower girl! (Ps. Lauren….Bodie is still mine!  Don’t come looking at my house if he goes missing!) Maddie and Bodie were super cute and very well behaved!

The bridal party rode up the ski lift to the ceremony, which I thought was also very original and super fun! After the vows were exchanged and the kiss sealed the deal, the bridal party did a little choreographed dance and all the couples danced down the aisle, so it was basically a party the whole day.

We did get to sneak in some sunset photos at the top of the mountain with June Lake in the background.  Of course I shot it on film and OH. MY. GOSH.  those images are ah-maze!!!!!  They are some of my favorites from the day!!!

It was so much fun to photograph a wedding where I knew almost all of the guests.  It made for some really great photos of the bridal party (hence the shots of the bridal party “passed out” at the Tiger Bar)!

Love you guys!

Michelle & Larry’s Yosemite Engagement Session

Michelle and Larry took me adventuring with them in Yosemite National Park! We spent the day wandering around and even climbed a hiking trail, which was something I was not ready for because I was wearing boots – and not hiking boots! (lol oops!) It paid off though because we got to shoot at a waterfall that Michelle and Larry really loved.

Luckily though I had Steven (my then fiancee, now husband) with me, who was wonderful enough to carry all of my gear. I’m so glad we did it though because it resulted in one of my most favorite images I’ve shot to date – the one of Michelle kicking up her foot while they stand together under the umbrella.

Some of my other favorite shots from the session are of Michelle in her gorgeous green dress standing in front of the creek. The way the light came through the trees and lit the scene was so magical! It was a total Disney-esque moment!

Michelle and Larry were so much fun to photograph and hang out with for the day too.  So much so that we ended up shooting with them for a bit longer than normal and had to drive home in the dark, but it was totally worth it considering how much fun it was and how many gorgeous shots I got of the two of them!

We had such a great adventure of a day with Michelle and Larry and I would gladly do it again!!!
